My Therapeutic Approach

Come as you are…

I believe in every person’s innate capacity for healing, and I’m deeply honoured to support you through the complexities of being human. Together, we’ll create a grounded, compassionate space where you feel seen, heard, supported, and deeply cared for. My intention is to help you reconnect with yourself, honour your needs, and move toward meaningful growth, healing, and change.

By offering an integrated approach, I draw from many evidence-based therapeutic modalities and theories to best align with you and your individual needs.

Clients often experience my approach as warm, relational, compassionate, experiential, and gently direct. I strive to honour your unique experiences, strengths, values, and cultural context in every aspect of our work together.

ATTACHMENT-BASED

As human beings, we are intrinsically wired for connection. We’ll explore your early relational experiences to better understand how you relate to others today. At the same time, the therapeutic relationship we create together will provide opportunity for fostering connection in a secure and meaningful way.

EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION + REPROCESSING (EMDR)

EMDR is a structured therapeutic approach that is widely regarded as an effective form of treatment for trauma and PTSD. It uses bilateral stimulation (eye movements or tapping) to help process distressing or traumatic memories and experiences. Visit FAQ to learn more about EMDR.

PARTS WORK

The self is composed of many ‘parts’, which have developed varying roles and behaviours in response to your life experiences. We can better understand your internal world by further identifying each part’s intentions, wounds, and unmet needs as well as inherent strengths, resourcefulness, and resilience.

SOMATIC + POLYVAGAL THEORY

As we explore the story of your experiences, I aim to include your body’s narrative as well. With knowledge of the autonomic nervous system and vagus nerve, we gain a more thorough understanding of your responses to distress and danger while also practicing new ways of being.

PERSON-CENTRED

You know your life better than anyone, and I value your experiences and perspectives. I aim to support you through unconditional positive regard, kindness, acceptance, and non-judgment.

SELF-COMPASSION + MINDFULNESS

Together we will practice present moment awareness and loving kindness toward you and your experiences. How you are responding is understandable and valuable.

ART THERAPY

Sometimes words alone don’t cover it. Art therapy offers another way for you to express and process what you’re experiencing. You are never expected to be an ‘artist’ and, instead, the focus is on the creative process and your own insights. Learn more about Art Therapy.
